Hello friends!
Here I am, trying my hand at blogging. Again. I’ve wanted to have a blog for a very long time, but have never found my ‘niche’. Until I discovered bookstagram. Now what is bookstagram? It’s just Instagram – but with a focus on books. I joined bookstagram in October this year, after I purchased my first bookish subscription box. And as soon as I found it I knew I had found the place where I belonged. If you are on bookstagram – look me up @princessbecreads
So this blog will be a place for me to share my bookish thoughts, write some book reviews and talk about my bookish subscription boxes.
First up – There may be spoilers below!! I finished An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. It took me a lot longer than normal to get into this book, but I think that was just because I was exhausted after the holiday break. Once I was able to stay awake for more than a chapter, I really liked it!
I like the split POV in books – part from Laia and part from Elias. I really enjoyed the storytelling and world building in this. And the characters were all pretty nicely rounded. Personally, I preferred the Elias chapters to the Laia chapters – and that may be because I loved the character of Helene. She was such a beautifully written character and I think I related to her more than Laia.
If there was one thing I didn’t enjoy as much, it would be that both Laia and Elias couldn’t seem to make up their minds about how they felt about Keenan, Helene and each other! But I guess they’re teenagers and I was probably just the same! So I can’t fault them too much I guess.
