Top 3 Thursday – Books That Made Me Cry

Welcome back to Top 3 Thursday! Go check out the original creator Mel, over at A Cosy Reading Blog – and join in the fun!

Now if anyone knows me at all, they know how much I cry. So I actually laughed out loud when I saw this topic. Because it’s more like ‘Name 3 Books I Didn’t Cry In’! That’s how bad my crying is! So to do this, I had to have a good sit and think about the books I’ve cried THE MOST in.

1. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – JK Rowling

Let me preface this by saying I was 15 when I read this. So I was Harry’s age. I totally understood all the Harry angst! And then the scene in the Ministry, when Sirius goes through the veil… I was ruined. Honestly, I was a sobbing mess! Hurt even more because Sirius was one of my favourite characters. And then harry realizing he had the mirror, and trying to talk through it… ugh heartbreak!

2. Love Me – Marcia Lynn McClure

Now let me start this by saying Marcia writes clean romance books. Which are adorable. But terrible. But wonderful. This was one of her contemporary books about high school sweethearts who just love each other so much, but still aren’t together! And I related to Jacey – the main girl – and just wished I had a high school sweetheart of my own! So yes. I sobbed like a baby during this. Don’t judge me.

3. The Time Traveler’s Wife – Audrey Niffenegger

I adored this book. I was completely invested in Henry and Clare’s relationship. And I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed basically the whole way through. And even more when I saw the movie. I was an embarrassment in that theatre I can tell you!

So there we have my top 3 crying books! But give it some time – Kingdom of Ash comes out in September! 😝😉

Happy readings loves!
