Hello book lovers! Today’s Top 3 Thursday post theme is Spooky or Creepy books. Now, I don’t read scary books. At all. So my list of creepy books includes some weird ones 😂
1. Stalking Jack the Ripper – Kerri Maniscalco
This book DID creep me out when I started reading it – it’s about a serial killer! And has pictures of autopsy tools on like the first page! Most people would be a little weirder out, right? But luckily I kept with it and this became one of the best series I’ve read this year! I love it so much!
2. The Witches – Roald Dahl
This book has forever scared me. I don’t think I’ve personally read it, but it was read to me as a child, and I’ve watched the movie, and I’m 100% terrified of this book. I remember looking at people in the shopping center, convinced that I was surrounded by witches planning to eat me!
3. Monster Blood – R.L. Stine
I read this when I was in Grade 3. Correction – I attempted to read this when I was in Grade 3 and was so traumatized by it that I never picked up another Goosebumps book ever in my life. I think this may have been the first book I intentionally DNF’d!
So obviously you can see from this that I’m a scaredy-cat. I don’t like anything properly scary at all. So while I love the Halloween season – I hate being scared 😂
Do you like scary books and movies? Or are you a scaredy-cat like me?
Happy readings friends
