Mirage

I was sent this uncorrected proof of Mirage while I was away on my holiday and I knew as soon as I saw it that I wanted to start it right away! The cover is just gorgeous – and this isn’t even the final cover!

This is the first book I’ve been able to read in a month or so, and let me tell you – it was the a fantastic book to start back up again with.

Amani has the tragic fate of being an exact body double of the treacherous Vathek queen to be, Maram. She is stolen from her family and forced to be the princess in the most dangerous of situations, including trips with the princesses gorgeous fiancé Idris!

I fell in love with the world – aside from the being conquered by the Vath, I would want to live there! The culture that Daud creates is intoxicating! I love the history that she provides for Amani’s people! Their love of poetry and storytelling makes the story all the richer.

The relationships between Amani, Maram and Idris drove this story so well. It wasn’t a love triangle (thank goodness) and watching each characters development was really interesting. I’m very intrigued with Maram’s character. She has so much potential and it will be interesting to see where Daud takes her character and the story in general. Because this is book one! Which means I get more of Amani, Maram and Idris 😍

Obviously you can probably tell that I really REALLY enjoyed this book! I thought it was written beautifully and I’m super keen to find out what happens next. I love the characters and the culture and the storytelling! Thanks to @hachetteaus for sending me this copy! This gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars for me!

Happy readings friends!
